good website for used yota parts other than Pirate

Post by Trailduster79 »

What website do you yota guys spend time on? Looking to start collecting some Yota parts for my axle swap on my sammy.

I mainly need some high steer stuff and will be needing gears and one locker. Gonna weld up the rear.

Would prefer to pick most of the stuff up used since I have a very small budget

That is a banging deal on the 5.29's

I may be looking more towards used gears.

What gears would you assume are in the axles I just got out of an 80 yota with a 4 speed?

My budget is next to nothing.

I would say the truck has 4:10s or 4:30s. I know some of the early trucks had the 4:30s but dont know what years. Pirate is the only place I have looked for used stuff.

I have some hardly used 4.56 Yukons, interested in that ratio?

that is the ratio that I think I plan on having in the truck when all is said and done.

How much do you want for them? one set or two?

If the axles have 4.30's in them now, I may just stay with them to help keep the budget down.

The main issue with the gearing for the samurai is that the high range is not 1:1. it is 1.409:1 to make up for the wimpy motor.

So that throws another number into the gearing equation because when you go to lower t-case gears, you also drop the high range in the t-case. And each set of t-case gears drops the high range a different amount.

So you have to pre-plan your axle gears for what t-case gears you plan on running in the future.

just one set, 4 cyl. And I believe the pinion is still in the third member, I took it apart to use the locker in another third. Let me think on the price, might consider trading thirds with some cash involved and that would aid in your gear setup. Bug me if I forget.

For other used gears, toyota axle code G254 is the code for 4.56 gears with four pinion differential out of V6 vehicles. G252 would be a two pinion differentials but dont know if they put 4.56s in any 4 cyl vehicles. Last time I checked, Agees had a V6 third with 175,000 miles and 4.56s for $250 i believe. I know you are not in town but still an option.

Just another little tid-bit. You can weld V6 thirds. You have to disassemble them and weld them like a 14 bolt.

Stallings, I've got a 4.30 diff sitting at the shop if you need it. $50 seems to be the going rate for stock 4.10/4.30 diffs.

Oh, and if you know what you're looking for and what applications it came in, car-parts.com can be very useful for acquiring good used parts.

I have a 4.30 diff that you could add to Arys to make a pair.
