yay! the jeep drives ... kind of .... but not really

so i spent all day fixing the ssteering issues that rendered the jeep undirveable ....

finally got it back on the road at about 930 ...

made it up to 30 mph, about 200 ft from my house .... and all hell breaks loose. the worst death wobble in history seems to have bitten me right in the ass (although its more up to down than side to side .... so i wonder if it doesnt have something to do with the missing upper control arm :o )

so it seems like im going to be doing a back yard alignment tomorrow and the weldding on a new UCA mount to try to fix this

the insurance wont pay for that to be fixed? as in actually driveable? or is it b/c of the axle that you bought

it has nothing to do with the wreck ... its the half-assed setup on the axle that is the problem

yes.. it is because of the missing link, and shitty welds, it is binding up, that is what causes up and down movement :flipoff2:

Is it fixed yet?

It might not be a bad idea to just rip that axle back out of there and redo all the bracketry for the heep 4-link now. It could be done in a day maybe.

what are your plans for the driverside UCA mount?

well ... the thing is ... i cant afford the rental car any longer .... so it has to be driveable today .... and when i 4 link it, im going to do a 1" bl, 1" MML , flat skid, and coilovers .... and im broke ... so its gonna have to wait 1) until this summer 2) until i get a loan to do it :o

that's why i say fix it with the factory suspension. you have most all of what you need already to go that route. putting the uca mount on the diff will be the trickiest part I'd think, and that shouldn't be too bad to work out.
