I don't have one yet, but really want to get one. I have a friend that has 2wd and 4wd gas road cars that I've driven and now I want a crawler really bad. I don't know too much about them as in what kind of chasis they sell, and suspension and that stuff, but I'd love to do some fab work on a custom 3 or 4 link suspension. I'm thinking to start off with electric and see how I like it.

If you don't mind me asking, how much do you have in it total and do you do any fab work on it?

Thanks,
chris

Yea I dont mind ya asking at all, it kind of makes me realize how I could have a set of 1 tons for my Jeep sitting in the garage but atleast I havent spent enough to build the axles or else I might have to sell em off.

I have bought most all types of them, built 5 or so now. Most expensive one I have put in about 550 into it, one will be under 4, another is under 250, then a couple more that I have built just salvaging parts off ones I have built. Then of course the walmart crawlers, got a little one all customized and Stallings, Wilfong and I just bought those 1/6th crawlers from Walmart last night, they are pretty sweet for the 50 bucks a pop deal we got on em. Gotta be careful to get the right generation of the big one though.

As far as custom work everyone I have done I build the chassis, links, tranny mounts, steering mounts/tierods etc etc. Some just using plates out of aluminum and I have done several tubers now. Ary, Stallings, John Whittaker all have nice ones as well, Stallings also made a tube chassis as well as Ary, Johns is a chassis made from side plates. They are definately fun but I got into it head on and have way too many projects right now haha. If ya need any help with em shoot me an email I know most all products now/best ways to build shit. And we should have the big Walmart crawlers at Big Dogs.

Heres a couple I have built/am building. They are fun as hell.

Got a couple more projects right now, FJ40 tube rig, Toyota body tube rig, Emaxx crawler comp rig and that last pic is the project I'm working on right now, building a Twisted Customs style rig using walmart crawler body.
