Bigger knuckles and joints a possibility?

Sidenote: did the stockish XJ get hung up at the top of root hill like i have in the past?

Henry, no, you can't put bigger knuckles and joints on a 44. Well I guess you can, you could put complete 60 knuckles on there, but you'd still have a 44 center section. U-joints stay the same size too, they just come in stronger designs/materials.

No, the stockish XJ made root hill its bitch. He lost forward momentum a few times, but just backed up and gave her hell a few times and he made it. It certainly looked like a bumpy ride though :D

I got my AlloyUSA shafts through DC4WD w/ spicer joints for something in the low $500 range if I recall. that was with one of the inner shafts being custom length at an extra charge.

yea I'm waiting on a quote from him, just got off the phone with northridge4x4 (I've gotten stuff from them before and they're typically cheaper than most) and they said $665 for alloy usa with spicer u-joints; $1065 with CTMs; $1000 with yukon super joints. Appalachian offroad said $400 for yukons; $675 with yukon superjoints.

I think I'd want to run high strength u-joints because it sounds like most warranties wont cover if a regular spicer u-joint is used. Any thoughts on that? I know I'd be pretty upset if a spicer u-joint failed and destroyed my chromos without a warranty.

The AlloyUSA's are covered w/ Spicers. Mine came fully assembled with full-circle clips and 760x joints. Ask when you order just to be sure, but I believe if you buy it all as a set they will warranty w/ the Spicers in there.

okay the best prices I've gotten are from DC:
$500 for alloy usa w/spicers
$755 for alloy usa w/yukon superjoints
$525 shipped for yukons with yukon superjoints: he seemed to stress these, he said hes running 37s beadlocked with a 4:1 kit on a trail tj with yukons and said hes never broken anything and is completely satisfied with where he's at.......but I'm still leaning towards the alloys with yukon joints.

aight after talking to appalachian, northridge, carolina rock shop (not accepting new customers currently) and DC, I went with the alloy usa's with yukon superjoints, called alloy first to make sure the warrenty covered thm and they said yea it covered anything that wasn't crossdrilled like napa, neapco and such, or ox joints (weird?).
