Collecting ARB's... Help me...

Post by Billet Benny »

ARB's are anti-roll bars and not a brand of locking differential..

I'm trying to collect as many bars, arms, and bushings as I can of any setups offered by Currie Enterprises in their Anti-Rock line of arb's.

I don't care if it's designed for a specific vehicle or if it's a universal kit. You Jeep guys can help me keep an eye out on all these Jeep forums I never visit since the only vehicle specific kits are for Jeeps.

I'm mainly looking for bars.. Secondary is arms (any style or length) and the delrin bushings. I'll take link ends in some cases. I do not want the tube that's supplied with the universal kit that's for mounting.

I like to pay $150ish for the bar, arms, and bushings all together depending on condition.

Also, looking to talk to anyone that wants to trade any coilover shocks/springs for airshocks.

Thanks for any help!!

Just to clarify, are you looking to recieve airshocks or coilovers in that trade?

That's what I figured, but then I thought maybe you were gonna try some sort of fancy engineering thing to make airshocks work better than coilovers.

You can never go assuming basic things with you, you always have to be different :flipoff2:

have you measured a torsion bar off of an ifs toyota? I can't remember the length off the top of my head, but I remember thinking that they were about the right length to use for an anti roll bar type set up on a Jeep or Toyota. I can measure mine if you think it might work for you.

I've got two.. Rate wise they're somewhat useful but they aren't straight forward when it comes to getting moment arms on 'em and it's not possible to get a good bushing in the right place. No telling how much trouble it'd be to broach simple arms for each side, and I think if I'm remembering correctly both ends are different sizes. I have the two so that's plenty if I ever think they're the right tune, but the Currie arb's are the best to work and tune with and on top of that they're properly built. Anyway, I'm stock piling, not just looking for something to make an arb out of.

And here's tech in the For Sale Forum. These are all the torsion bars sold by Currie.

Length (in).....Diameter (in).................Kit
...35.75..............0.750..................Universal and TJ Front
...44.00..............0.800..................Universal
...32.00..............0.700..................Universal
...50.00..............0.900..................JK Rear 2 Door
...50.00..............1.000..................JK Rear 4 Door
...36.00..............0.750..................JK Front 2 and 4 Door
I SAY FUCK ARBY'S!!!!
If you know anyone with the JK kits I'd love to have those bar diameters. In fact, I NEED them. I'll probably call Currie sometime and just ask. If I had those the list would be complete and I could then completely finish a document to compare them for tuning purposes.

EDIT: Ok, the list is complete. I got information from David, one of the engineers at Currie. He also said the 35.75" bar will be discontinued when the current inventory sells out. It will just be replaced by the 36" bar.
muhahahahaha

Anybody have a contact with Currie Enterprises?? They haven't responded to either email I sent them. I want to call them, but I'm afraid I'll blow their mind if I don't give them something in print so they can have time to find the correct answers.

Come awn.
