For Benny

Post by jac6695 »

Here is a picture of my old beadlocks. I welded the rings to a set of 16.5x8.25 GM factory wheels from a 79 3/4 ton truck. Strong, but a little heavy. Worst thing is, first trip out with them to Moab, I didn't have the rings tight enough (I was afriad of coning the rings)and I kept pulling the tire out of the ring. A lot of people were picking on ORD because they cut them for me. It was really my own fault.

Yea, mine were pretty much the same thing. I thought Beck told me they were cut by a machine shop and not in house at ORD. I need some IROKS to go back on those things.. Or some 44" boggers!

I think mine were Beck's design. That was when I still lived in MD, and I picked them up one weekend I was visiting Jill in CO. That was the first time I met Beck. He met me at ORD on a Saturday or Sunday at there old shop.

off topic: Speaking of Beck, I found some old photos of his buggy the day he fired it up. I'll bring them to the meeting tonight.

I thought so :confused2:

Edit, I guess this is one of those months where there are 5 weekends, so there probably isn't a meeting tonight. It had just been 2 weeks since the last one, so I figured there would be one. My bad.
