Looking for a Duramax...

Post by Arya Ebrahimi »

Hey guys, with the new job, and some graduation money coming in, I'm looking for a Duramax. If you come across any for sale that have the following specs please let me know.

05-06(somewhat flexible, but want a truck still under factory warranty)
2500 SRW
4x4
less than 70k miles
automatic
crew cab
short bed
SLT(GMC) or LT(Chevy)
NO MAJOR MODS - cold air intake and exhaust are the max, don't want any chips etc
Spray-in liner a plus, but not required
Toolbox a plus as well, but not required

Basically I'm looking for a nice truck. Something I can take a client to lunch in. I prefer the look of the GMCs to the Chevy's, but will look at either. I've been scouring cars.com and autotrader.com as well as all the local dealer lots and have found a few, but haven't been able to come to terms on price.

Thanks guys!

I'll give $50 and a case of the beer of your choice to anyone who finds me a truck I end up buying!

Preston, there's no accounting for taste, personally don't care for the dodges and who in their right mind would buy a 6.0 ford?

Peter, yeah, I forgot that part. 2500 SRW.

Price range is 20-25k(up to 27 is ok, I'll just have to do some haggleing).

have you seen any in that price range your looking at that have 70K or less? before i got my CTD, every DMax I found(which I would have preferred as well over a Dodge, because of the interior mostly) between 20K and 25K or so had well over 100K miles, and those were 02-05 model years. Damn Chevrolets/GMCs hold their value too well :flipoff2:

edit: a plane jane, no power nothing '05 2500 has a book value of $23,355, and thats for a 2WD

Yep, looked at a few today that were 24-26k that had decent options but didn't have leather or the center console(something I really want). Looked at an 06 w/ 70k miles on it this morning fully loaded LT with leather, bose sound, etc and they wanted 26.5.

My goal is to stay below 23k, but on a truck that's listed for 26 or so and then jew them down :D

Yeah, they want 26 for it, and it's an extended cab with cloth interior. If it were a crew cab, and they were lower on the price, I'd think about it.

I love my Dmax. runs great on grease :)

anyways, I bought it a year ago... its a 4x2 and is plane jane on the inside. I bought it w\ 86k miles and found it for 15.5k. I think I found a pretty good deal though. any GREASE PLANS Ary? look on ebay. they sometimes go pretty cheap there.

I appreciate the offer man. If they had a crew cab, I'd probably take you up on it, but it's an extended cab, and I really want the fullsize back seat. And Ary is spelled with a y

Stinson, I love the look of the Fords, by far my favorite body style diesel. But they ride like ass and they sound like freakin school buses. I know I know, I'm driving a "truck," but forgive me for wanting to ride in comfort :flipoff2:

Chris, no grease plans. I have been scoping out ebay and have 3 or 4 that I'm watching at the moment.

Thanks guys!
