Looking for a tbi so early 90's or newer 454 Chevrolet Big Block. Must have entire wiring harness and computer, preferably still in a truck. You guys keep your ears to the ground and help me find one pretty cheap.
Thanks,
Wilfong

That isn't too bad of a deal. What is it for? You really might want to consider a 6.0 liter. You can pick them up with trans and harness/computer for around $1800-2000 and will be near equal power to a TBI 454 with better fuel economy.

I gotta agree with these guys Adam. The Gen III motors are getting fairly cheap, and the simplicty and power they make is fantastic.
If you decide to go that route and need some help with the electrical/tuning my uncle can help you. He's running a modded(heads/cams/headers) LS1 in his play car and and another less modded LS1(headers) in his 'vette. He's got the HP Tuner's software and can reprogram whatever you want. Just an FYI.

So I assume more tire, axle, etc are in the works too?Fonger wrote:Dual-Jet is still in the works, but it's a band-aid fix at best. 4.3L not enough motor. I've got a 3.8L and it's not much smaller. I need ignorant power here.
Regardless, unless you're going really big (like 40"+ and tons) I would personally look for a small block. I just can't imagine having the weight of a big block in anything less. While I'm not a Chevy man I can tell you that it's easy to build a SBC to make as much power as a stock BBC. ~300hp/400lb-ft (which is more than either a stock EFI 460 or TBI 454) is about what my 351w makes and is easily obtainable in any small block. With that being said, a 6.0 might be a good option, although I don't know enough about them to give much input.

Funny you say that 'cause that's exactly where I'm going with this. I've maxed the ability of the rig in it's current state. Time to go big.VerticalTRX wrote:So I assume more tire, axle, etc are in the works too?Fonger wrote:Dual-Jet is still in the works, but it's a band-aid fix at best. 4.3L not enough motor. Oh, for the CJ, find yourself a 5.3/4L60E with harness and computer. I have seen them no lie for as low as $800.00/complete in a lot of places. Easy 350 HP, easy wiring, low first gear in the 4L60 (or stick with the manual of choice). Another option now is an early LS1. All aluminum and getting cheaper (right in the $2000.00 range).
