Newbie with project under way.

Post by Fizboy »

So I am relatively new to the club. Have hung out at a few meetings but have yet to go on any trails with the club. Few of you know me from when I worked at back country, few of you know me from the meetings, and others know me from around town. Just wanted to share with you what I have been working on this summer trying to finish by fall on a super tight budget. So here is a link to a build up site that I have created for it. I hope you all enjoy. http://www.radford.edu/~tcoad/Wheelin/S ... roject.htm

cool man I was wondering if you ever picked up that truck, I think you were talking about finding a way to get it. Weld up the rear third while you got the welder going, flip the ball on the J-arm and longer shocks and wheel the hell out of it.

Yeah my friend, girlfriend, and I picked it up back in May. I waited until I was done with the semester before I started working on it.

I heard that flipping the ball on the J-arm is a PITA for minimal clearance. I think I will wait until I have the $$$ to do a cross over steering. Anyway the welder I have won't do heavy welding. I am going to have to find someone that can weld on my spring hangers for the Chevy springs and the new horse collar when I get them. Right now I am trying to find the money to order the hangers, shock mounts, and a set u-bolt flips.

If you want to come play sometime or have any suggestions let me know.
