I wouldn't waste my time with it. Stick with the 4.0L and maybe build a 4.5/4.6 stroker out of it. The AMC motors are the finest made, but they are hard (probably impossibe) to get to work in a computer controlled vehicle. If you want a v8 in something, buy a CJ and go that route, faster, easier, and in the long run cheaper. But you'll miss fuel injection...

Still a waste of time in a TJ. EVERYTHING in the TJ is controlled by the ECM. You take that out and you have to replace the tach, tem, charge, oilpressure gauges, speedometer, transmission (if its an automatic), and you'd be a lot better off buying a CJ, putting in a EFI V-8 of your choice, buying axles that will take it and four linking it yourself....

Oh...I wasthinking about SBC in a CJ. Agreed on the TJ being a b!tch to swap.TerryD wrote:Still a waste of time in a TJ. EVERYTHING in the TJ is controlled by the ECM.
