1999 F-150 rotor problems

Post by Ctrow »

1999 F-150 4wd. Everything says that you take the caliper and bracket off, then slide the rotor off.....nope. half a can of PB, dead blow, and 40oz hammer later and the f**kers still wont come off. All put back together and looks like it's going to a shop. What am I missing?

also no star nuts on studs.

I did the job a couple times on a '97 (should be the same) and all I had to do was pull the caliper and bracket and it fell off. Its cast iron, so if you hit it hard enough it'll crack and should come off.

heat up the inside of the rotor where it sits on the hub. It must just be froze on there.

Never had any problems betting the rotor off the front of my '99.
