Looking for help hauling a vehicle

Post by alk1174 »

I may be looking for some help hauling a vehicle. I found an 81 toy close to Christiansburg that may make a good parts donor but first I wanted to see if I can get help moving it. I will either need to borrow a small trailer that could handle a truck that weighs about 2500 lbs and pull it with my tacoma or get someone with a truck and trailer to haul it for me. Towing it with a dolly is not an option its too rusted. I will also need to get the remains hauled off after its stripped. I will be willing to compensate you. Let me know if you can help

Depending on when you need to do this, I can probably haul whatever with the mountaineer. If by chance I'm busy, you can still borrow the rig.

Thanks for the offers of help guys but after looking at it last night I dont think its worth it. The only parts on it worth anything are the windshield, grille, lights, axles and possibly the homemade steel flat bed/ladder rack. The rest is pretty rusted out. Unless someone really wants the front axle and is willing to do a lot of the work its not worth the trouble to me.

I saw the same add on Pirate and talked to him about it and was considering it until I saw this add with pics showing the radiator support crushed.

I did not take a serious look at the flat bed but it looked to be a handmade steel flat deck with a bent hoop at each end to hold ladders or lumber. I never looked under it to see how it was made or what shape it was in. I think it was in better shape than the rest of the truck.

I also forgot the truck has a 3" body lift and a tach and it did have a Wilfong motor, Buick V6 with a four barrel.

I have my cab pushed out good enough for the doors to close fine and the glass to go back in so I dont know if a cab replacement is even worth it unless I can find one thats cherry. Than I wont want to wheel it again.
