OK so I have to ask. Why the short notice on the party? Didn't give the alumni much chance to make plans to come into town for the party at all. Why don't we plan ahead for these things? And shouldn't we do this as a wheeling/camping thing? That is what we do isn't it?
Up until a couple years ago, the end of year party would be at Boley Fields. I think it was all booked up one year, or we just decided not to have it there and did it at Miller's instead which was a lot more fun. Since then we haven't gone back to the fields, but it's always an option if people want to.
The wheeling part was traditionally on reading day (thursday before exams). There didn't seem to be much interest this year. I do think the club's average GPA is up though.

Wheeling/camping was the plan, but everyone in bburg is to scared of breaking their stuff right before driving home (exams started today). sorry for a delay in posting the time/ date/ ect. There was a bit of discusion on what to do, but part of the reason we made it saturday was so folks from out of town and with real jobs could come in. I have 2 spare bedrooms and about an acre yard for anyone who is planning to stay over night
Responsibilities are not laid out anywhere in writing. Over the years the positions have changed here and there, and generally the titles don't end up meaning much.
Many event coordinators never did anything, so that position sorta got dropped, with those responsibilities delegated to one of the VP's. In the end though, events seem to get coordinated by whoever is actually going on them, and not the designated officer anyway.
There once was an actual treasurer position, some years ago. I've played treasurer for the last two years, as a half-officer and as pres. Banking for the club used to be an F'ing mess, with the account being in the name of a club member. Now we have a Fed ID# and an actual business checking account, and a permenant address, so it is easier to get officers on and off the account every year without having to close and open a new account, so I don't think we need to bring the treasurer position back into play.
The president should have a grasp of all the "nuts and bolts" of how the club runs, and be able to make deciscions on how the club operates based on experience. It should not be a catch-all job where everything that doesn't get taken care of by someone else becomes your problem.... but you can expect it to be that way regardless.

Wish I could have made it. I was entertaining my family who came into town for my graduation from Radford. I will be around here until August so if anyone wants to try and break my new rig let me know. Of course you will have to help me fix it too.
