1985 SR5 Toyota 4wd Project Starter, Maryland

Post by MILLER »

Going to be posting this all over. Regretfully need to sell it. Life has caught up and I dont need another project.

location is Eastern Shore of Maryland, near Cambridge
$2000 OBO

Perfect for starting a trail rig or crawler project!
Never wheeled, about 250,000 miles
Manual tranny, EFI, full truss solid front axle, top shift t-case, bucket seats
Historic Maryland tags, been driving it a lot recently, almost daily
Somewhat restored in 2007-lots of time put in
frame off, replaced with repainted 1984 short bed frame with no rust holes (see pic)
2x4 .25 wall rect tube built rear x member, cleanly done, bomb proof, w/ hitch
minor holes in floor boards patched, coated w/ spray on bedliner (see pic)
entire dash dismantled and cleaned, including air ducts, all speeds of fan works
new suspension bushings heavily greased when installed
all four shocks replaced with new
front spring hangers plated, lengthened shackles installed
new body mounts
rear gears rebuilt with 4.56 yukon gears out of my trail rig's front axle, good shape
new 15x8 steel wagon wheels

Tranny and t-case shift well
Cab is in very good shape, minor rust on corners (see pics)
Brand new fenders/corner panels painted and installed this past winter, CAPA certified
Engine starts and runs well, a little smoke on start up, needs timing checked
New plugs, wires, and dist cap and rotor this past winter
Rebuilt rear brake assy this past winter with new wheel cylinders
Parking brake arms rebuilt so they won't seize again
Flat bed was a last minute throw on to move in 2007, but finished off the lights and licence plate nicely this past winter
Front and mid flat bed supports should be reinforced
Good tread on 31x10.50 all terrain tires
Factory moon roof, no leaks
Factory power radio antenna switch (can be converted for winch control)
CD player, speakers need to be properly mounted
Good clean heat (no funk smell from vents)

The bad- other than I have to sell it-
windshield needs to be re-sealed
Front gears are 4.10s and growl, need to be rebuilt*
t-case output bearings could use replacing
Both pinion seals leak
A/C does not work
Cruise control does not work
Power windows, they work but slow
Throttle position sensor hacked together with V6 sensor, but works well and OEM sensor can replace it
comes with original center console, but not installed
cab is a long bed cab, gas tank was lowered to clear cab
parking brake limited due to patched wire
driver's seat has tear
radio wires need to be tied up
exhaust manifold studs stripped, but helicoiled and fixed

*Never ran in 4wd with mis-matched gears, I pulled the rear drive shaft to check 4wd function recently.

All systems/parts not mentioned I consider in good working condition
