windshield removal/install
I need to replace the windshield in my red s10 blazer. And I was wondering if anyone has some good advice on what tools to use? Or the general procedure of pulling out a junkyard windshield and installing it on my blazer?
I was looking at something like this.

it can be tough to remove a windshield on an old vehicle without damaging it. I can explain how ive done it successfully this weekend because I really don't feel like typing much right now. But basically you just remove the weatherstripping and any retainers and then cut out the seal well, and be really careful when prying the windshield out.

Good luck finding a nice windshield at a pick and pull. Everybody seems to enjoy breaking them and everything else that could be of use to others.jstables wrote:yeh i know it will be tough but at least there are plenty of s10's to practice on.

Worthy idea to consider based on how long it takes you to find good donor windshield, how many good donor windshields you ruin because its your first time pulling one, how many you ruin cause its your first time installing one, and how much a bone yard will charge you.

And i probably see three or four nice ones every time I go to chesterfield auto parts and they are like forty bucks. I would just like to try to get one before paying to have one put into a vehicle where in all likely hood it will be broken again.
thanks for all the replies though. i'll look into finding a place that replaces them too just to compare prices of everything.

Many pick and pulls require you to pay for the windshield before you attempt to pull it. Just something to think about.jstables wrote:I enjoy doing this when i'm having a bad day.BadAssEddie wrote:
