speaking of ... i just spent 3 weeks repairing a telsmith 30x42 that some jackass destroyed. lol.
feed shute for that badboy is about 6ft long ... dumps kept overloading the grizz which overloaded the jaws.
the crusher was literally tearing itself off its frame.
what a pain in the ass job.
Never worked on a jaw...sounds like fun tho! Company I used to work for had to get a crack welded up in the base on their stone age gyrotory, that turned out to be some intense welding.jonesy wrote:lol ...BadnewsCJ wrote:I have worked for a couple companies in the aggregate/open-pit industry....but theres no way in hell I would recommend you

its bad.
but the best thing is that jaw crushers are cake. they are simple. but they have a tendency of tearing their frame apart underneath them.
gyrotory crushers are a pain in the ass ... its just a conical jaw crusher lol. they work on the same concept, only they are complex as fuck and they have a pain in the ass manganese liner.
and why do i want to move back to va? because TN sucks. lol.
and for reference ... the recommended feed shute to grizz length is from 21 to 30 ft. ooops on their part ... yay for my paycheck. lol.BadnewsCJ wrote:

the frame rails which were 20" beam (and close to 7/8" flange thickness) were destroyed. the crusher box had beaten its footing pads from 4" thick down to 3" thick. lol. and the 1.5" holes were 2".
we ended up planting it on 4" of solid steel with T7 tool steel inserts in the holes.
it was a pain in the ass.
