What's happening fellow four wheelers?
Just wanted to post up a couple pics of the Jeep I've been working on since July of '06.
Started out like this:
Most recently, this past weekend, we have been putting in a cage and it currently looks like this:
I was once part of the NRVJeepClub, but that group seems to be dissolving so I was thinking about catching up with you guys some time. I live in B'burg, not a student, but would be interested in doing some wheeling with you all once I get this thing completed.
Specs:
81 CJ7
77 amc 360 on propane
TF727
D300
Front HD44 (Have a D60, but had the D44 rebuilt before I found it so I want to break it before I put the 60 in, probably wont take long)
Rear 14Bolt
SOA with Waggy springs, stretched 2 inches to the front and 3 to the rear
Thanks for looking, hope to get this thing done soon and catch up with you all shortly thereafter.

Well I am am back, had a major setback. Poor break in of the cam resulted in failure requiring me to install a new cam/lilfter set. I had installed a Summit brand 8600 and replaced it with a Lunati. After properly breaking in the engine I was ready to install the new tires I had acquired, some 36x13.5r16.5 bias IROKs mounted on recentered H1 wheels.

Need a skid plate and I will be ready to come out and play.

Shot a quick video of its first time out. Need to lower the air pressure and fix the power steering, may need some hydro assist.
Anyway, still need a skid plate but I thought I would share.

Planning to weld up the rear and leave the front open for now. Maybe an Aussie for the front later on, but I guess I am planning an a locker for the D60 and would rather spend the money there. Good question though. After watching it in action, I can see the value.
The 36s really zapped the power and I am going to have to regear. From what I understand, lower than 4:10 gears in the 14 bolt will require a different carrier or a "thick" gearset. When I install the 60, I am going to a deeper gear and a spool in the rear, at least that is the current plan.
Thanks for looking.
