Tranny Lift?

Post by MtnManMatt »

Anybody got a low transmission lift or a transmission adapter for a floor jack I could borrow? I'm not for sure if I'll need it yet, but I'm worried bout some clutch noises and might have to pull the tranny/t-case here in Blacksburg before headin back home in a couple days. I've done it before with two floor jacks, some blocks of wood, and a buncha ratchet straps, but I'd rather not go this route again if possible. Borrowing a second set of jack stands would be helpful too if I do have to pull the dern thing (I don't have much of a shop yet here in Blacksburg)...

Don't be a pussy, an AX-15 don't weight much. I installed the big block in my truck by hand cuz I won't trying to hassle with the engine hoist. A tranny lift is no replacement for a good set of forearms.

Come on y'all. I'm a little feller. The tranny with the t-case has gotta weigh at least around 150... I'll get it out though.

Next issue is my negative camber problem...

Ye ye, well I'm workin on it... Anyway though, got the tranny/t-case out... Turns out I got a hole in the top of the bellhousing. Sheet metalled and JB-Welded it so that's fixed. Now I've discovered my input shaft bearing retainer (the thing the throwout bearin rides on) is destroyed. Soooo, guess I need a new one... Anyone got one or know where I could get one? Cheapest I've found is from Cobra Transmission for about 50 bucks, but I'd be interested in a cheaper/used one instead...
