In case some of you have noticed, we are working on updating the main page. That said, we will soon have a functional Trail Reports Page, Featured Member's Rigs, Calendar, and hopefully a news feed.
Anyone who has a rig at all, Please consider starting to put together a build "article" about it. I know most of you have read peterson's or JP magazines. Look at the feature rigs in them and put together an article in similar fashion. You can do it in Microsoft word and make it a pdf or just get me the word doc and I'll make the .pdf
Consider writing it in 3rd person for an objective point of view, though it certainly isn't necessary. You don't need to go through ALL the specifics, but highlights and cool aspects would be great. It doesn't need to be build thread style, following the life of the rig but instead an overview of the rig.
I'm hoping this will give new members a chance to figure out what's here in the club and get to know some of the guys in the club already. I would love for both new, current, and old members to participate in this. It can be as long or as short as you want but 3-5 pages would be a good goal I think.

Re: Featured Rigs
It's free to interpretation, but I personally was thinking more of the magazine.style that also includes some info in article style. Stories, deciding factors, reasonings, etc. Check out an article of jp and read the feature rig article to see what I'm talking about, but like I said, its totally up to you guys

Either would work, I was just throwing ideas out there. I just want to get our main page more user/public friendly

Re: Featured Rigs
All this sounds like a good idea to me, I've long thought the main page has been lacking.
With that said, I'm thinking something a bit shorter than a full 3 page article, but more than a 'readers rides' segment would be ideal. About a page for each rig with a 2-3 photos. Something that goes over all the specs and mods, along with maybe a bit about the construction process, intended types of wheeling, etc. Each rig owner could do their writeup (3rd person would be good) and include the photos, then one of the admin's could edit them for format. I think it'd be good for them all to have the same layout for a cleaner look.

Yeah, I'm going to keep mine to a page when I get around it. Good input Grubb, thanks.VerticalTRX wrote:All this sounds like a good idea to me, I've long thought the main page has been lacking.
