Max's Black TJ
well, I'm Max Hames, i have an 04 TJ, with 26k when i got it and 50k miles as of 9/12
Its got the 4.0, its got some bolt on shit for now
This build probably wont have much text cause i never read that stuff anyway and you guys know how to bolt on a bumper
I used to work at a Toyota Dealership so i had all the tools/help i needed, Priority Toyota if you're from hampton roads
I have big plans that i cant afford but thats not too important as of now
BIG BALLER KRAWLER
EDIT:
Vaguely starting to plot for rubi 44s or something of the like for the summer, some variation of aftermarket lockers, factory locker, 4.56-4.88, and shafts.
Will be hopefully going 37s by christmas or so
looking at pitbull rockers/goodyear MTR 37x12.50R17

Puff of smoke under hard throttle is nothing to worry about. FWIW, oil getting into the combustion chamber is a bluish/white tint. You don't really need to do an oil analysis, IMO.Mr.WJ wrote:its a little lengthy.

I think an oil analysis is a great thing to do on any vehicle. They give you a ton of info on how healthy your engine is, how your oil is holding up etc. I plan to do one on my bike when I change the oil this week, my jeep whenever I get around to changing it as well as my truck sometime. The reports are really interesting, I'd recommend them for anyone interested in taking care of their vehicle.

Re: Max's Black TJ
Im confused, whats going on with all this oil analyses? I changed my oil/diff fluid before i came if that is relevant to this thread

Re: Max's Black TJ
Sorry man, Alec had brought up one my recent posts on my build thread on JeepForum after you had referenced it. On my thread I was talking about getting an Oil Sample Analysis to see how the engine is doing and if there are any warning signs to be concerned with, etc.

You are one of the few people who would/could actually use said information to take care of a vehicle. Without action upon anything that might show up as ominous, you aren't taking care of anything. Besides switching to a different oil, what wouldn't be related to a hard part on the rotating assembly, valvetrain, etc. not being adequately cooled and lubricated by the oil, leading to premature wear and tear?
I was just giving Mike my opinion because, with his attention to detail on the Jeep, anything that would be awry, even a minute issue would drive him up the wall. Am I right Mike?
It's kind of silly to break into a low-mileage stock engine, especially if it's at 90% or what have you. This compounded by the fact that the 4.0 is so reliable and can handle large amounts of abuse, which Mike doesn't dish out. Matt's drove at highway speeds for considerable distance with no oil. I'd just keep up the good PM and let well enough alone.
