Rausch Creek June 8-9

Post by willhf1011 »

A bunch of us are looking at making a Rausch Creek trip on June 8-9

There was talk of it being a day trip. I personally would like to wheel both days if my rig allows it. We could camp and ride out to O'Neils for drinks/dinner on Saturday night or do it the old fashioned way with a grill and a 30.

So far the headcount is looking like

Wheeling:
Will
Nick
Hippy

???:
Kate F.? (just picked up her first jeep, clifford jr.)
Matt C. (maybe?)
Jake (maybe)
Trow (maybe?????)
Alec???

Riding:
Steve
Trong?

Havent heard back from James yet.

Looks like I will most likely be riding along if there is an open seat. But still not sure yet if I will make it up.

There is a chance I will be out of the country the week prior, which would be my only time to get my rig together.

Put an * next to my name or something as I probably won't know until sometime late next week at the earliest.

False, tons of mud there. Includes a lot of water most the time but they have some serious pits. And a lake.

I could possibly make it, I'm getting really close. It will depend on if I can get springs shipped in time (waiting on paycheck) and if I have enough money to rent a trailer and drive up there. I'll be a tentative for now.

I can't make it. My fuel bowl on my Powerstroke needs to be rebuilt ASAP, brakes aren't done, and coilover springs wont be in this week.

We had a great trip. Nick, Hippy, Trow, and myself ended up making it. I think Steve has most the pictures, hopefully Nick will get a chance to post them sometime this week.

Trow's "new" commanche worked great and took the beating of a lifetime without missing a step.

Nick battled inner bead issues and is still working out the kinks getting his TBI tuned properly but had no epic issues for his rig's second time out.

My rig stayed relatively cool with no heat issues, but I think that was more due to the weather and lack of extended hard running than anything. I still think I need a new fan/shroud.

Hippy sucked as usual by going everywhere the bigger rigs did, except with less struggle/throttle and on 35's.

We ran the first portion of trail 5, cv trail, cemetery, boot hill, tombstone, and some comp course area climbs. Everyone made the left ledge down by tombstone which is no walk in the park.
