Not yet, trying to figure out the wheel and tire situation.
Got the front axle mocked up under the car with the Clayton links last night.
Pics coming soon.

That's the Clayton UCA bracket? Idk what your plan is, but I would def gusset and brace at least the tall one more.

I'm almost positive that clayton kit comes with another brace for that tall upper control mount. It has CLAYTON cut out in it.BadAssEddie wrote:That's the Clayton UCA bracket? Idk what your plan is, but I would def gusset and brace at least the tall one more.

Alec there is gusset that Clayton forgot to send the first time, I just got it yesterday. I wasn't worried about it for the mock up. I'll weld it on when I pull the axle and weld everything on permanently. Already had to grid off the top control mounts and reposition them. Glad it didn't have the trust on it!

Ohh yeah I've seen that "CLAYTON" gusset before on builds.
Very good, carry on.

Re: 1996 XJ
Been working like crazy the last few days. The rear is done and in, even though I screwed up the brake caliper positioning. The front axle is almost done and will be pulled, fully welded and painted tomorrow. I also mocked up a winch bumper and got wheels and tires.

Looking good man, liking the kevlars. 37s? What kind of backspacing did you go with? You going to build some sliders?

Re: 1996 XJ
Unfortunately they are only 35s, I wanted to go 37s but, 35s where out of my budget as it was. The wheels are 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing. The front axle is done ill post more pictures tonight.

Re: 1996 XJ
New 35s still cool. 5.13s and 35s might be a bit rough on the interstate though haha you still going to DD it? You have a winch for the new bumper yet?

Re: 1996 XJ
Well unfortunately time is up on winter break and the jeep still has a few kinks to work out. It will not be making this trip with me back to school, hopefully I will be able to come get it in a few weeks. We did how ever finish the axle swaps and she does run. With the larger dual piston brakes in the front and the 3/4 chevy brakes in the rear we need a larger master cylinder. The stock xj one just doesn't move enough fluid until the brake pedal almost hits the floor. The steering is also a little off, but that's just a matter of adjusting caster and toe-in.
Re: 1996 XJ
Frame stiffeners. Fabricating the rear ones myself
The 60 pre-installation
The front axle post mock up. Waiting to be welded
New flares
Everyone was warning me about ground clearance with the 60 and only 35s but, I was pleasantly surprised. I have a bit more clearance then I had with the 33s.
Still need to fab up a front bumper and install the rear.

Looks great man. How do you like those fender flares? Are the iceland offroad? How do they mount to the existing fenders?
