The race is Feb. 7 this year. Nick, Randy, Ary, and myself will all be out there for the week. A number of us have made the trip before and it's an amazing experience.

Pirate has some really good live coverage during the week, and it gets better every year. I'm sure the guys that were home last year will attest to it.

I've got all the DVD's from years past if anyone wants to watch them. Last year we did a KOH party at bdubs one night, if people are interested I'm sure they would love to have us back in there again.

This is without a doubt the premier event in the world for 4x4 and the culmination of the entire year.

If anyone has any questions, I'm always down for talking about it.

If you guys ever wanted to go you need to make it happen. Life only becomes busier and more chaotic as time goes on. I'm glad I got to go several years ago and wish I could make the trip again this year. The only thing better than KOH is going to KOH with a vehicle so you can actually drive the trails for a true appreciation of the race. I hope to make that happen w/ the MOG sometime in the future.

So you just brought your DVDs in and they played them on the big screen?

Well the DVD player in the bar is actually mine, I donated it since they didn't have one at the time. I have a pretty close relationship with most of the employees there and as a club we have a strong history with them, so they are pretty accommodating to us.

But more or less, yes. That and I seem to be the only one who knows how to make the entertainment system play DVD's :lol2:

For those of us in town, we should have a viewing party Friday. We did this at Matt Vest's last year and it was a good time watching the live coverage.

The race begins at 11 am EST. The first finishers won't be crossing the finish line for 6 or 8 hours, so it's an all day event.

Matt, is your laptop fixed? Would you like to host again?

If not, does anyone else have a good sitting area with a nice TV that a laptop can be hooked up to? My TV is older and I can't stream on it without a S-Video to HDMI or S-Video to VGA conversion cable. Anyone have one? If so, we could do it at my place.

I am definitely down for a viewing party!! I have a pretty good TV that is laptop compatible and also some decent seating. Although I'm doubtful, I can ask my roommates if I can have everyone over hahaha
