Looking for a good machine shop in the NRV or close by that will do motor work (block dip/magnaflux, boring, turning cranks, valves, etc). Got a couple of Jeep motors that need some work. Any suggestions would be great,
Thanks,
Grubb

Re: Good automotive machine shops in the area?
There was a really good one in Wytheville that Terry and I used but It closed a few years ago. At the moment I just need to get the 2.3L Ford in my brothers jeep dipped, bored over, and deck milled, maybe a valve job, should be pretty straight forward. Eventually I might also need my L134 bored and valves done, not sure if anyone can still do valves on a flathead or not.

Maybe try Baldwin Performance in Christiansburg (Plum Creek technically I guess, next to where Thomson Chrysler used to be). I've never talked to them but I know several people that have.

Baldwin performance is cool. I had my intake dipped there a few years back.

I've been there before. I forgot about that place. Seemed like a good knowledgeable guy with a bunch of stuff in the garage.CJonLP wrote:seriously there's a place called "Pro Engines" behind country kitchen (239-3090), guys name is Adam.
