Calibrating Speedometer
Anyone know where i could get mal"s speedometer calibrated and how much it would cost?

Most likely, (if it's a local ticket) they'll dismiss it all together if you get it fixed pretty quick and go in with a calibration slip. Rarely do they just reduce it to a lesser charge.
Let the Officer say their thing, then when the Judge asks you if you have anything to say, reply with something along this line; "Your Honor, I do not argue that I was speeding, however I did not realize my speedometer was not accurate. After I got the ticket I had my vehicle checked and found that it was "x" mph off. I have since had this problem fixed and have the papers here with me. I appologize and ask for the mercy of the court.
If he does want to see the papers, hand them to the Officer and they will hand them to the Judge, don't try to approach the bench.
A simple, "I screwed up, I'm sorry, it won't happen again" defense goes a lot farther than the "I know I wasn't speeding, this Officer is on crack and you're all crazy" defense.
