Tools needed can you help?

Does anyone have dial calipers and dial indicator accurate to .001 and set up bearings they could loan me?

I've got the first two items. setup bearings for what axle?

if you have new bearings, just take your old ones, grind out the ID to where its a slip fit and use them as setup bearings

except that they could very well be destroyed during removal from the carrier. if she had a way to pull the bearings safetly then she wouldn't need the setup bearings, would she?

It be for a dana 44 and a dana 30. I could also just use a bearing puller.

I probably still have the setup bearings i made for my 44 laying around...

I'm outof town right now but when I get back can I barow them. And if you have any gear set up knowledge it would be greatly appreciated. Sam said he would help me so I am not trying to do this on my own. But any advice is welcome.

I highly recommend putting a 20 ton shop press on your third floor balcony and doing the gear installs in your apartment kitchen. It is key to make sure all your roommates think you are crazy, make sure the whole place reaks of gear oil, to drill a couple holes in the kitchen floor, and to have Wilfong "test drive" your axles while still in the kitchen.

I wish I was down there to help, I should still have my D30 and D44 set up bearings and clam shell somewhere, but that's no help.

yeah, I'll try to remember to dig out the setup bearings tonight. make sure you have plenty of time and beer. are you planning to do this over spring break?

No, I am out of town helping my Mom this week. But when I get back and ya'll have the time, is what I was thinking.. and beer will be over flowing. I love beer :beer:

Anyway, I am hoping, maybe sometime within inthe next 3 weeks. Let me know whats good for you.
