on board air options

They are 4.5" x 26".

I want to use a cruise control and was debating whether I could set it up as a "hand throttle" as well so engine speed would remain constant whether under load or not.

Well, I siezed up the first compressor today. I had been running air tool oil through it at about 1 drip every 3-5 seconds. I think it had run dry at one point a while back, but I don't know for how long and it didn't show any ill-effects then. It actually gave no warning when it did sieze up.

I was talking to Terry and air tool oil may not have been the best stuff to use. It is a Saden compressor and has no oil sump per-say, it uses oil in the air (or refridgerent) flowing through it for lubrication. He showed me some actual AC compressor oil that I may use for the next one, unless there are any other suggestions?

The suggestion would be to use a York which has a sump to contain oil.

The york really is not necessary. People run the Sandens for years without problems. They must have the oiling figured out better than I do is all I can figure.

Been talking with some other ford guys and apparently there are some differences amongst the sanden pumps that affect their longetivity for OBA.

I pulled my pump apart, and found all that was wrong was that one of the piston-swashplate bearings siezed to the swashplate. it popped right back off and now I just need to figure out the best way to resurface the swashplate a little bit. Then I'll keep running it until it siezes again.
