Looking for a small 2-stroke engine....cheap or free

Post by Arya Ebrahimi »

I need a small 2-stroke engine. Ideally someone would have a weed eater or similar that has broken running gear, but the engine still functions.

Not looking for anything huge, probably less than 50cc's is ideal

Let me know if you've got anything.

Thanks,

Ary

I have my old craftsman chainsaw. it seemed to have siezed, but I never did take it apart or try to break it free. it's possible that the starter rope just got jammed up somehow.

not gonna be near 50cc though

Thanks guys.

Eric, I'm pretty sure 50cc's isn't very big, I was looking at a really dinky weedeater at sears today and it was 25cc. 50cc is only ~3ci.

Anyway, I don't need a very big motor, and actually, smaller is probably better. This is going in an RC Car

I had mine seize too. The pin that holds the piston in place slide out and got caught. I fixed it but broke a piston ring in the process  so it is just as useless

mine didn't sieze while it was running, which makes me wonder. i shut it down myself, and then it just wouldn't crank again. I was ready for a better saw anyway so I never did try to fix it.

Mine had a similar issue and it turns out that a bolt backed out of the case behind the flywheel and got caught in the flywheel. All I had to do was take the flywheel off and put the bolt back in.

Alright, well I guess I'll take a look at Steinberg's chainsaw.

Steiny, you around in the evenings?

Bump, still looking.

Turns out chainsaws don't spin fast enough, so I'm only looking for weedeaters now.
