Matta fakt Clizzay we need to enter that beast into the tractor pull. What what.
it didn't work so well when dred, bent-ew and I were trying to drag dred's 4runner on bald 29's up special trial.

the funniest tow was when stallings and i were dragging the green scout out of bobcat... almost had to tug an engine block, a frame and a dodge out in one swell fooop... remember the engine-on-hood-sled-towed-by-chain-while-strapped-to-chassis procedure?

Depends on what you want you XJ to do. Mine is getting built as a trail vehicle for stuff like Mtn Lake but with extra mud (3-4" lift on 33s). I'll be building a different vehicle for stuff like what special trail is going to become if it keeps getting dug out.

IMO XJ's with their unibodies are the shit. I like it, it's innovative, and it works. I think they are the best thing jeep ever built shy of a nice tj. As for the torsional stiffness.. because you can flex up a framed rig and a unibody and open a door and shut it in one and not the other you do not have a valid comparison test of torsional rigidity. Because the unibody is the frame, the whole cab area is stressed heavily whereas you will not see the same actuation through the body of an isolated cab on frame rig. Overall, I'm willing to bet with just torsional rigidity numbers the xj is actually stiffer than many other cab on frame vehicles when you look at chassis stiffness. However, torsional rigidity of the chassis is not near as big a deal for offroaders as race cars.
