Better now? I've got to get them mounted but don't know if I'll have time this week. I think I have my Boggers sold and have to meet that guy one evening this week in Roanoke.

Well I sold those wheels before mounting them. I'm thinking about a set of ProComp 8101 or Ultra 195's with the polished spokes.

Thanks. I've got the moldings, pin striping, and badges on it now. I also have a tool box in it and picked up a camper top for it last week. I want to build a ladder/canoe/ect rack that goes around the outside of the camper top so I can use it with or without the camper top in place. I'm still considering wheels, but they are not a priority right now. The Suburban's new engine is giving me a fit. I hate to admit I'm almost at the point of trading it in...

Not much has changed here. Still no Pott's trip planned Alec....

Added a topper to it to keep gear in the bed dry. This has been our go-to beach trip rig for several years and keeping our stuff dry and locked away is nice. It'll manage 14mpg on the highway, running about 80. Not bad for a truck with 300k on it.

I also pulled the rusty nerf tubes off and picked up a set of Iron Cross Automotive Stainless Steel ones that give me a side step to access the bed with in front of the rear tires. I've got most of the stuff to rebuild the steering this summer and hopefully keep her from wandering aimlessly on the highway as she occasionally does now.

She's also in need of new tires and since the 285 Discoverers worked so well on the X, I'm going to get a set for this as well. In a couple years when the X wears it's tires out, I'll swap them from the truck to the X and get new tires for the truck. Then I'll always have fresh rubber on the truck and can get the mileage from them on the X.

Been working on replacing the steering and fixing the brakes on this old thing. I installed all the TREs, idler and pitman arm, adjusted the steering box and changed the steering fluid. It also needed a new brake master cylinder and I've still got a little bleeding to do to get it right. It's still 100% better than with the bad master cylinder though. I had to grab a cheap set of used tires for it to get it through inspection so I'm back down on 265/75/16's for the time being. With Julie in school and me not really using the thing for much hauling these days, I couldn't justify another $1k in tires for it right now. I love the Michelins but right now budget>preference.

After Julie is working and we get caught up on some things around here, I'm considering finding a 7.4L truck to donate it's big block to Helga. I get 9-12mpg with the small block, might as well have 8-11mpg and another 100hp! Plus the old 5.7L is getting kinda tired after 295k miles. I just hope it'll hold out for another year so I can really focus on it again.
