i need a carrier for a D70U with 35 spline shafts. has to be for 4.56 gears and numerically higher gears. can be welded, or open. no LSD carriers. lemme know if you know of one. thanks.

I thought 70U's only had 32 spline carriers??

I have a friend right now dealing with this crap. He keeps breaking 32 spline shafts in his and would like to go to 35 spline...

certain D70Us(like in Dodges) have the 32 spline shafts. mines out of an 80s ford so it has the 35ers.

i just need the 4.56+ carrier because mine has 3.55s, and im running 5.13s

Will the Ford carrier swap over to the Dodge?

as long as its a 70U or regular 70 it will. 70Us and 70s have a 5/8" pinion offset, while the 70HDs have a different offset.

the only thing bad about D70s are that there are so many different variations, it gets confusing.

you could run a ring gear spacer on the low-gear carrier.

I got a bunch of beer can tabs laying around that you could just throw between the ring and carrier.

then I know somebody that would probably make one for you. a low-gear carrier for this axle doesn't seem (to me) like a common item to be floating around.
