stupid heep my windows stuck down and its freezing

Post by Yoda »

my passenger side window stopped working and is stuck down (its freaking cold outside.) tore it down, i think either the motor is jammed or the cable broke inside the motor somewhere. i don't feel like messing with it, where should i take it to get a new motor/cable for it? would i have to take it to the jeep place and pay way too much for it or would any shop be able to get the parts. i don't know too much about how to correctly set power windows up, if anyone knows anything about it help me out.

real windows don't have motors, they have zippers...

just kidding, I wouldn't take it to the dealer, any shop you trust should be able to take care of it for you, or someone else in the club might help out, it shouldn't be very complicated to swap out.

it wasn't hard nah. but the part was expensive. $227 for a silly regulator, that all it is is a motor and pulley and a worm gear. rediculous. i guess the first rule of engineering applies here, the more compents the higher the rate of failure.
