I know most of you all are Pirate viewers like myself. I noticed a post under the general chitchat that really offended myself and I am sure it will offend all Hokies alike. The post is under the Motivational Posters thread. The post is #1973 in the second picture. Please post up to get the picture removed.
I agree with your feelings and have posted in support, but it doesn't really shock me how they reacted...
I don't go there very often anymore and I definitely stay in the tech/classified forums.

You are going to lose. You have your feelings and that's understandable. But, you have no right to push your feelings upon others and that is what you are doing. You must understand how to take jokes whether or not they are in good taste. It's no different than listening to a joke about your race. Someone will *always* be "offended". Big deal, water off a duck's back if you know how to handle it. Appease yourself, do not expect others to do it for you. You have extra feelings because you were close to the basis of the joke, as was I, but you must realize that is true for all jokes.
By starting a thread and accusing people of being insensitive, you do look like an emotional Nancy. That's the way I see it.
It is a public forum.
You have no right to not be offended.
However you do have the right to do almost anything that helps you heal that doesn't infringe on the rights of others and that's what we should concentrate on doing. Simply, it's what I've done.
I would not waste my effort arguing anything on Pirate4x4.
Some good information on there, but you have to weed out all the monkeys first. You'll have people pretending that they don't think it's offensive simply to be offensive.
I wasn't "offended" per say, but damn, some folks really are just dicks.
That sorta blows my mind how wantonly some of those jackasses make some very cruel statements. I know the internet's anonymity allows for that, but shit...
In any case, I read through page 2 or 3 of that link that was posted and just sorta got sick of reading/looking because as has been said, while I agree with the sentiment that it was a pretty insensitive (at best) picture, I can't see that "discussion" going anywhere productive.
