1992 ZX7 with a motor from a 1994 ZX7R (good for about 10 more HP than stock 1992 motor). 7R motor is bolted up, but upon test firing there is a "clack" which I think is the cam chain tensioner/cam chain. Either way the 1992 engine was fine, so here soon I'm just going to put that back in there.
For sale is the bike with a clean/clear title with a 1992 engine that runs fine and a 1994 engine that runs in the sense that it has compression and has no truly horrific leaks or holes, but it has a "clack". Engines go on Ebay for around $400-800 depending on the year/condition/accessories. Also have brand new K&N filter in the airbox, new Dunlop front tire (not mounted because current front tire still has life) and the plastics (off the bike...in OK shape, not great, but not terrible for the age...pass the 10ft test for the most part.)
Hoping for $1200 or an offer, or a trade: another bike that I don't have to fool with plus cash from me would be optimum, would also take guns, saltwater fishing related gear, a set of 35" MT's, a 4.10 14bolt installed under my Suburban, so on and so forth. Cash given or taken depending on what's there.
Before my ambition got ahead of my wallet (throwing an unknown condition 1994 motor in place of a 1992 motor that was running w/out any knocks or misses):
