Well the old jeep has done it again and won't start. Think it's the alternator. I'm going to be putting a new one in tomarrow in the cage around 1:30 or so. If you want something to do or don't feel like studying feel free to stop by. I'm in the back corner of the cage. 757 561 3631

did you fill it with mud? i've seen more alternators replaced when all they needed was the brushes cleaned.

on mine, I can remove the module that holes the brushes with just a torx security bit, without even removing the alternator. any time I've ever seen a ranger alternator quit after wheelin, it's been because mud got around the brushes and then dried, preventing the springs from applying pressure between the brushes and the rotor. give it a shot.
