Post by Matt612 »

For anyone who knows anything about these.. are these decent deals or not. Im pretty uneducated but I was going to try to pick one up before the Harlan trip possibly..

this is a smaller 1/18 scale.. should I try to stick to 1/10?

Bout time you kids got into these things. Hello 5 years ago :flipoff2:

I would pass on the Losi. Krantz didnt seem to happy with his.

I would pass on the small one. Theye dont seem to be balanced right physically.

The tuber is OK. Little pricey. You could build your own chassis out of brakeline and buy parts for less.

I have an Axial AX10 , been modded a good bit with front dig, etc.

Thanks for the info Peter.. I will keep looking. I figured the tuber was a bit high.. What would be a good price for that one?

Id prob offer around $275 to $300. Those portal axles are :sheila: though.

The losi is a bit high.
The only thing I have really been unhappy with on mine has been wheel speed. It doesnt have much and its expensive to get it.
Otherwise it has been very durable the only problem I have had is with wheels. The numerous tumbles down hills and off rocks started to break the wheel centers.
The stock link setup is very good for low speed crawling.
But like most things mods make them a lot better but also raise the cost a lot.
I would stick with either an axial or losi as there are tons of parts for either one. Some of the other brands arent as popular and can be hard to get parts for.

Matt, Will, and I were just thinking there would be cool stuff there. I'm down for a trip to Radnasty on Sunday. Would you and Leach be in?

I dont remember there being anything at Pandapas worthwhile. I would suggest going to campus or the jehovahs church for a starter session.

I am in for a Dam trip sunday pending what time I start/finish playing golf, and if I find my remote......and batteries......and find a way to charge them.

Leach doesnt have any accessible right now.

We all have night crawlers.

Mine has a Goat 3s ESC and a 21.5 brushless so its got some decent wheel speed. mostly Comp Crawler suspension parts and white label Rovers on stock wheels for now until they start breaking. I've got metal gear servo on it now but it doesn't have enough power so I think I will be upgrading that soon as well. I'd also like to change the ESC so I can reverse slam/run sweeter batteries

We've wheeled campus and the church quite a bit. The church has some cool lines. Theres also a huge field of concrete rubble on Whipple that Matt and I checked out today that has some fun stuff.
