Tools/Help Installing Lift

Post by VT-05WK »

Within the next week or so I should have all of the parts to lift my 05 WK. (OME HD coils, Bilstein Shocks)

My roommate and I have some tools and plan on doing the lift on a weekend. If anyone has jack stands, a hydraulic jack, impact tools or just wants to help with the install, any help would be much appreciated!

I have to do the lift at Tech because I have a blown front strut at the moment and can't drive my Jeep.

I would help you with the lift (even though I don't know what I am doing), but I gotta fix my rear axle leak this weekend.

I wish you good luck and can't wait to see the finished product.

Well it won't be this coming weekend because my roommate's girlfriend is coming. Plus I know something is supposed to arrive on Tuesday but I'm not sure if its coils and shocks or just one of them.

If you want to help, it'd be great to have an extra set of hands and eyes when we finally do the lift

Just post on here when you plan on doing it, and I will see if I can help. I know these next 2 weekends are a no-go for me though.

Hell yes! I'll take all the help I can get. I'll definitely put a post up once I have everything and once I have a better idea of when I'm going to do this.

Just a reminder, if anyone has jack stands and/or a hydraulic jack, those will come in handy especially for the rear install.

got the rear done, and got the front taken apart. Started compressing the new coils to put the coilovers together and the spring compressor from autozone got pretty sketchy and progress was slow so we put the front back together and dropped it off at auto experts this morning and they are putting the front on.

As much as I hate to say it, we did drop it off at auto experts this morning. I really wish we could've done it all but safety comes first and the spring compressors definitely did not fall into the safe category.

Here's a picture of the back though.

It was pretty fun, 7 hours of wreching and only leaving half-satisfied. I helped provide the sunlight :flipoff2:

Good for you guys doing some serious wrenching in a parking lot and not asking for a garage to do an oil change.
