Camo TJ

Since I finally made an account I figured I should probably make a rig thread about my TJ. As of right now i have:

-4 inch lift
-Long arm 4 link rear and 3 link front
- Dana 30 front, Detroit locker, inner sleeves (non disconnect HP from xj)
- Ford 8.8 rear, factory limited slip (from explorer)
- 3.73 gears
-33 inch KM2's

When i first got it

then welded some sweet powder coated sliders and cut up the old front Bronco Bumper

Finally got my lift

Then got rid of that crappy tj center console and replaced it with some ammocans

Some where along the line I got new tires after ripping alot of tread off the old set of tires and then last week I went and got a front half sport cage and back half of a built factory cage that will hopefully all get put in later this week.

Over fall break I was able to put some time into my rig and get the rear half of the roll bar in with the help of some other guys on the club

First thing: i wanted to be able to keep my back seat usable if needed so had to cut out the rack in the back and make it removable

Then after messing with torx bits for the next couple hours we managed to get old cage out pretty easily

the new one fit in pretty well it only took a few hits of a hammer, some ratchet straps and a high lift to stretch it

Looks good. That rack will be pretty useful unlike Max who decided to get rid of all his cargo room with his half top lol.

As many know i got some minor body damage to rig at Harlan over the weekend,

Last night i ordered some hood pins(more appropriate than ratchet strap) and a new set of tube fenders, due to time i had them sent to Maryland so they wont make it onto my car till at least next weekend, I am gonna keep the hood for now and just smack it with a hammer till it will fit. I should be patching the crack in the hard top this weekend with some new fiberglass then eventually ill try and find some matching paint to mask that area of the top.

picked up a 258 4.2L motor today for 100 bucks

In response to Alec, i know we talked but figure I will still post up about it.

I will be using my factory block so I can run the same fuel injection set up, i am not putting this motor into my jeep just the crank shaft and rods in so that the displacement will increase to a 4.5L motor. However like we talked about i will possibly need to run aftermarket fuel injectors to dump enough gas into the motor to keep it happy.(which is what WJ posted)

got home last night and today I spend a good amount of time putting my new fenders on. So far they are about 60 percent welded up and still need some paint.

after taking the old fenders off, tried to salvage as much of the one good fender left over and as much of the liners so i didnt have to make new ones

For all that where worried it passes the functionality test as well

I will also be connecting the fenders to my sliders, on the next picture the area that is colored red will be filled with 2x2 box tubing connect the two, would use round but it would not fit as nice or be as weldable

Round steel tube is just as weldable as square steel tube... :flipoff2:

Yea should have thought bout that a little more I guess
