JKU Checking in

Post by FFHaselton »

Whats going on Jeeple and Non-Jeeple my name is Taylor Haselton. I met a few of you briefly tonight at the meet but for those who didn't see me or weren't there heres some information about myself and more importantly my JKU! I'm a freshmen at tech this semester and have my JKU on campus. This is my second Jeep, my first being a 99 XJ which I will include details on later. My current Jeep is a 2007 JKU with 37,XXX miles on her. I call her Lora. She's a 3.8L six speed standard with the HP Dana 30 upfront and the Dana 44 in the Back. I currently run a soft top and will likely continue to do that until I throw on the bikini top in the summer. Lora sits on 35/12.50s (really 34.5, they're metric) with roughly four inches of lift. She has a paint under body, aftermarket skid plates, has on board air, and differential covers. Inside she has covering seat covers and bed tread. In the near future she will be getting led headlights and light bars. For those of you who may be wondering my rig is not "mommy and daddy" bought, I have a car payment. Also unlike my previous XJ Lora was bought not built (don't worry ill be wrenching on her soon). Now onto my previous Jeep. Jess was a 99 XJ that I bought when I was 16. I owned her for a little more than two years and took her from stock to a respectable XJ. Jess had a long long list of upgrades and replacement parts. Some of the hi lights include: RE 3.5 inch lift, Rough Country Gen 1 Discos, APN Header, CAI, Detour OFF Road A Pillar light mounts with KCs, Custom (very basic actually) front bumper with KCs, Redid the cooling system with aluminum CSF 3 Core radiator new water pump belt hoses and pulleys etc., flow master super 40 with a high flow cat, walker downpipe, 784 neon injectors, sourced some skid plates off a zj and made that work, iron rock offered double shear trackbar etc...... There were more but you get the point. I don't claim to be an expert mechanic or a master welder (I could use some welding practice). Some other notable things about me include the fact that I'm a firemen. Look forward to meeting y'all and learning what I can from you guys.

The first thing I'd like to learn is how to post up some pictures? -- I figured it out

Did quite a bit of work to the old jeep, I plan on doing a decent amount to my JKU so long as my wallet allows me to.

I haven't. I like the look, and I'll get to it eventually, but I have a couple other items on the list with higher priority.

It cost me roughly $15, all the pieces can be sourced from Lowes/Home Depot. I recommend using metal gutter guards instead of the plastic (I have the plastic). I appreciate it whenever I see a bug caught in it rather than my radiator, its also going to be useful in the fall to keep the leafs out.
