spooling a front is going to be hard on the ujoints and the shafts .... steering will be a bitch so hydro assist would be recommended .... also, turning the vehicle will be a hassle as it will 'plow' forward instead of turning ... to an extent, of course.

its do-able ... but bring lots of spares

Don't spool it. This is coming from a guy with a welded front. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Steering is a pain and that is enough of a reason not to do it, but it's a lot easier to break hubs/axle shafts.

Put an ARB in it and call it done.

I got the detroit in my front end and I'm real happy with it.
