coilover suggestions ...

Post by jonesy »

those of you with experience ... what are your suggestions for coilovers?

right now i am pricing 14" coilovers with dual rate kits

waiting on prices, so far, for: Radflo, SAW, and Fox ... kings are too expensive, so dont even bother suggesting them ....

what about doestch Tech? anyone have eny experience with them?

I am running the doestch tech shocks on my TJ and will never buy them again. The pistons rusted about 6 months after being installed so now they eat the seals and they ride rough. When I bought them they were included with the lift kit and I didn't have the money to buy a better brand of shock.

I ran 2x14 sway-aways with remote resevours on the front of the ranger I had. I never messed with the valving on them but they were great on the road. On the trail I couldnt full compress them but they were just too stiff, needed diff spring rates just never had time/money to do that.

I do know however that with the Fox brand airshox (own some now, aint run em yet though) that the finish on the body WILL fade over time unless they are kept waxed and what not. The sway-away finish on the airshox is much better. I do not know however if they use the same finish on the airshox.

I would first check w/ DC4WD, in Fincastle.

but I don't think coilovers are gonna fix your death-bobble/wobble :flipoff2:
