700r4 help

Post by BadAssEddie »

I need to know what this connector is called. Mine has broken plugs and is leaking fluid. I couldnt get the guy at advance to understand what it was and i want to look up a part number. Terry, maybe you could chime in with your vast GM knowledge

Advance can't get it. That'll be a transmission shop item. It's where the TCC wires go in to make the lockup converter work. I don't have any spare cases laying around to pull one out of. I'd assume it's just "the four pin connector on the side of the case above the pan rail".

I've got a dead tranny you could pilfer it out of, but you have to take the entire trans.

You can just stick one of the expanding rubber freeze plugs in the hole for now and drive it. You just won't have the lock up converter. Not an ideal setup, but temporary it would be ok. Just remember, driving around right at the stall speed causes excess heat, so make sure you run in a lower gear if you think you're right on the edge of stall speed.

don't do what i just did to my tranny. Four of the sixteen pan bolts broke off  when i went to change my fluid and i only got one out with an extractor. Needless to say it is at a shop getting repaired now...
