Similar thing happened to mine on I81. Make sure the case of your transmission is still good and that it functions

Rodger that, as far I have seen and shifted through the gears it seems all is good with the tranny, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure a second time.

Have you checked the local junk yards...D&M, Bill's, Agee's or the one out in pilot? This is where I'd start...
If no luck I'd start checking junkyards in Roanoke there are several there.

Haha, actually I was able to get in contact with the guy from Lynchburg and the 231j he has out of an early Cherokee should fit right in. Trying to get it tomorrow.
