I always wanted a 7.5L GMT400. That would be cool if you could find a donor truck and do the swap.

Any idea if a stepside bed from that gen would fit a '99-'02?

I don't know right off but they made the 99+ trucks in step side. I actually like their beds better than the ones for the GMT400 but the lines don't match well enough.
